State rates

Electricity rates by state

Use state residential electricity rates as a better starting point than a national average, then replace the rate with your own utility bill when estimating a specific home.

State pages are generated only when the EIA refresh provides official state-level residential rate data. That keeps the programmatic expansion tied to real data instead of publishing near-duplicate pages.

Appliance running cost

$0.00/mo
Daily use 0 kWh
Monthly use 0 kWh
Daily cost $0.00
Yearly cost $0.00

Formula: watts / 1000 x hours used x electricity rate. Real bills can differ because appliances cycle on and off, utility plans vary, and taxes or delivery charges may apply.

Data table

Available state rates

The table appears after official state rows are refreshed. Each state link uses a calculator preset with that state's residential cents per kWh.

The site is currently using seed national data. Configure an EIA API key and run the data refresh before publishing state-specific rate pages.
